Gilles and Giselle

Cover duo –
Acoustic or amplified

Gilles & Giselle – such a French name! The name of a duo made of two singers with a guitar, who sing a repertoire of French love songs, as well as English and American pop songs.
Gilles & Giselle are a pair of music thrift shoppers who have found little wonders deep within their favorite albums and have arranged them for two voices.
Gilles & Giselle also represents the pleasure of rearranging some great classics, in the purest respect of the original product.
Gilles & Giselle is a bubble of sweetness in which you are invited,
a cashmere and hot chocolate aesthetic in winter,
a nap in the freshly cut grass aesthetic in summer.
A suspended moment that can be appreciated both amplified and acoustic.

The duo is located in Paris.

How about Gilles & Giselle
for your wedding?

Music full of romance and softness for the cocktail: Gilles & Giselle offer an hour and a half long set of covers, whether it is the best of old and recent love songs to add yet even more romance to your special day, or more known songs your guests will be delighted to recognize.

We also offer a « Guitaraoke » animation. It lasts either an hour thirty or two hours. We come with a catalog of songs with their lyrics and chords, so that you and your guests become the stars!
In case of shyness, Gilles (aka Sophie) helps you with the melody…
But we trust that you will quickly find the star within you!

Another option: music for your ceremony.

Secular ceremony: have your and your guests’ speeches accompanied by sweet guitar tunes. Nothing quite like musical declarations of love!

Religious ceremony: we can sing a cappella songs in church, such as the Gregorian « Pater Noster » or « Salve Regina ». One or two other songs can be added.

Summer of 1996, Sophie is five ‘and a half’, her parents have friends over for a barbecue and all these adults ask her to sing the song she just learned at school. She sings, and they get astonished: « hey, she sings well! »
More than 25 years later, she’s still singing and it is actually difficult to get her to stop. After having spent 3 years in the Lyon Opera’s children’s choir when she was a teen, followed by 2 years at the Lyon Conservatory, then by many (many, many) years singing in all sorts of Parisian choirs, she founded a vocal ensemble with some friends in 2020 called Le Cercle Vocal. That ensemble would soon recruit a tenor called Alexis.

A few months later, the idea and motivation for a duo was born.
Gilles had found her Giselle.

Summer of 1996, Alexis is not at Sophie’s parents’ barbecue party. Unaware of the musical encounter he is missing out on, he is actually starting to play the classical guitar at the Conservatoire « because it is Georges Brassens’ instrument. »
More than 25 years later, he discovers it is also Jimi Hendrix’s and Simon and Garfunkel’s instrument, not to mention that of Fernando Sor and Astor Piazzolla!

He strums, sings, pinches, plugs, gives lessons and gigs, writes arrangements and discovers free jazz improv. He even starts saying poems on stage and singing in a vocal ensemble, le Cercle Vocal, where he meets the Gilles that his Giselle had been missing.
